The American Red Cross of Hawaii has been around since before its official founding on August 23, 1917, when Queen Liliuokalani initiated the first membership drive. 16,000 people joined the ARC, on that day, and at the time that was 1/3 of Oahu’s population!
The ARC tradition of volunteer service continues today, and we respond to disasters such as home fires or floods, about every 4 days. We still serve the military, train our communities to be prepared, and respond to large-scale disasters as well. “We” are made of thousands of volunteers like YOU that choose to train, and serve their communities when times are hardest. We strive to make sure there are always familiar faces there in times of need. Please join us today and become a part of the tradition!
