The Hilo Elks Lodge 759 will present its annual World of Magic show from 11am to 12:30pm at downtown Hilo’s Palace Theater on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
This year’s special performers are aerial artist Luna Sophia and magician Ronald Ishimaru.
Luna has flown on silks in Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States and Ecuador, where she has collaborated with Hiccup Circus, Cirque Ohana, Mirabilia Company and more. She brings sassy panache and dramatic verve to the stage, and hopes that her aerial art will inspire others to follow their passions. She is a certified yoga instructor and currently teaches at Aerial Arts Hawaii.
Ronald is a local boy from east Hawaii. A Hilo High School grad, he worked as an electrical engineer and volunteers at the Leeward YMCA as a Board-certified Tai Chi for Fall Prevention Instructor. He was the National President of the Society of American Magicians, following the likes of Harry Houdini and Howard Thurston, and the first of American Japanese ancestry to hold the position. In addition, Ronald is currently a franchise licensed Discover Magic Instructor teaching life skill using magic. He is the owner of Magic Academy Hawaii.
Audience will also get to meet the Elks Occupational Therapist Chrystalyn Naccarato. She is based on the Big Island providing free services to keikis in need.
Sponsored by the Elks National Foundation and community members, admissions to this performance is free, and donations are welcome.
