You had a bad day? Coffee.
Kids stressing you out? Coffee.
Can’t decide what to wear today? Coffee.
There are lots of ways to start rockin’ your day, but we implore you to rocket-launch it with a visit to Kilauea Coffee, located at 195 Kilauea Avenue, across the street from Coco Cantina. They’re open Monday-Saturday from 6AM to 6PM.
Waiting for laundry across the street? Grab a cup of the finest beans named Lokahi Coffee, made by Honolulu Coffee Company, where “every ‘ono (delicious) coffee blend begins with the selection and intent of each type of coffee. By keeping harmony and balance in mind, our knowledgeable roasters first select the green coffee components with care to make sure we have consistent flavors in the blend,” according to their website.
New Ownership
Kilauea Coffee has reopened under the new ownership of Mosese Ohia, who’s been working hard to spotlight local products throughout the café. The interior walls showcase artwork from the nearby Froswych Gallery, and the counter is stocked with locally made pastries. Who could ask for more?
Big Island Pulse sat down with Mosese to talk about his vision moving forward.
He shared, “A coffee shop should be more than just a place to order a pick-me-up. I’m hoping it turns into a community hangout; supporting all groups while creating workforce opportunities that drive economic development and growth.”
