This month, we have the pleasure of welcoming The Pollinators in Paradise, an educational outreach group on Oahu. They will be providing an introduction to the endangered Hawaiian yellow-faced bees and share resources that we can use to follow, share, and contribute to their conservation.
A brief bio on The Pollinators in Paradise group:
In October 2016, seven species of Hawaiian yellow-faced bees became federally protected under the Endangered Species Act. Through a partnership with the Bishop Museum in Honolulu, we were awarded a grant from Disney Conservation Foundation to develop the Pollinators in Paradise project. The goals of the Pollinators in Paradise project are to spread awareness of endangered native pollinators and enlist the help of the Hawaiian community and visitors to Hawaii in conservation efforts.
You can find additional information on them here:
Meeting will begin at 6:30PM with a short business meeting followed by our featured presentation.
