☀️ Aloha! I’m Kristen “KT” Thario, and the Big Island of Hawaii has been my heart and home since 2003 🏡
I have worn many hats—social worker, advocate, singer, show host, business owner, event planner, real estate investor and developer, proud homeowner, and German Shepherd dog mom. Each role reflects my passion for serving and uplifting our island community.
How It Began
My journey began with over a decade of dedicated service as a social worker, connecting families across the Hawaiian Islands with resources to help them thrive. That chapter was deeply personal. As someone who experienced the foster care system firsthand, I know the life-changing power of a safe, supportive home. My foster parents saved my life—and in turn, I set out to pay it forward and help others find stability, hope, and healing. Those 12 years were humbling and inspiring, showing me daily our community’s resilience.
Digging Into Digital
After transitioning from social work, I found a new way to give back: I took the helm of Big Island Pulse, a digital platform celebrating everything that makes our island special. Since 2013, it’s been a go-to source for local events, food, music, and business—highlighting the voices and ventures that shape our vibrant island life. It’s also a trusted space for sharing vital services and resources, staying true to my mission of fully supporting our community.
Not-For-Profit
My passion for service led me to join the Executive Board of Hawaii Island United Way, where I continue to support initiatives that strengthen our island ‘ohana. At the same time, I ventured into the world of real estate on the Big Island of Hawaii, drawn by the opportunity to help people find their place here—whether it’s a family home, investment property, or business location. I joined on with eXp Realty and they are a wonderful company that supports their agents all the way.
Make It Happen
For over two decades, I’ve immersed myself in the Big Island’s dynamic real estate landscape—from buying raw land, studying market trends, and working with local builders to create more affordable housing options. I understand the full journey—from dirt to dream home—and I bring that depth of knowledge to every client I serve.
