For the past ten years, Subaru Hawaii has donated over $290,000 to Hawaii nonprofits through their “Share the Love Sales Event,” and 2020 was no different. This year, Subaru Hawaii chose five local beneficiaries whose work represented one of their Love Promises, areas in which the brand is committed to making a difference in: pets, the environment, and caring for and helping people in need. As part of its Subaru Hawaii Loves The Earth Love Promise, Friends of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park (FHVNP) on Hawaii Island and Haleakala Conservancy on Maui were both chosen.
For every car sold between November 1 and December 31, 2020, new Subaru Hawaii customers were able to designate $250 donate by Subaru Hawaii to one of four charitable causes.
“We are so grateful to these organizations and the work that they do to care for our kupuna, pets, and environment. During a year of so much uncertainty, the importance of their operations increased ten-fold,” said Peter Dames, executive vice president, Subaru Hawaii “Subaru Hawaii is proud to have provided assistance to our community members and their very deserving services.”
President and Chief Executive Officer of FHVNP Elizabeth Fein and Superintendent of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park Rhonda Loh met with the Subaru Hawaii team at the Hilo-Big Isle Motors dealership on January 13th, 2021 to receive a donation of $5,000 from the Share the Love Event.
“We are humbled and honored to receive this significant donation from Subaru Hawaii,’ said Friends of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park CEO Elizabeth Fien. “This donation will greatly assist us with our mission supporting Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park and its educational programs, protection of endangered species, as well as cultural, natural resources.”
