Project Hawai’i Awarded 2022 Starbucks Foundation Neighborhood Grant

Starting the new year off right!

The Starbucks Foundation is continuing to give back and make a difference in the community through their Neighborhood Grants program. Since the program started in 2019, Starbucks has given over 7.5 million to nonprofits across the US and Canada.

“We’re proud to be nominated for The Starbucks Foundation Neighborhood Grants program – all thanks to local Starbucks partners (employees) at the Aikahi Park Starbucks in Kailua. They not only chose to nominate Project Hawai’i, Inc., but wrote their own stories of how we impact the community around them.”

This grant is part of The Starbucks Foundation’s Neighborhood Grants program, through which one or more Starbucks partners (employees) nominated our organization based on the important work we are leading in our communities. This round of Neighborhood Grants focused on supporting organizations that address a critical need in the community and those that the partners are passionate about.

During the 2021 holiday season, The Starbucks Foundation received over 11,000 submissions from Starbucks partners across the U.S. and Canada. The Starbucks Foundation is proud recognize and support Project Hawai’i, Inc. as one of 1,200 nonprofits selected to receive a Neighborhood Grant. Project Hawai’i, Inc. will be able to use this grant to support our monthly outreach program on O’ahu. Project Hawai’i, Inc. is a volunteer staffed nonprofit that provides year-round programs to homeless unsheltered children across the islands of Hawai’i, Maui and O’ahu.

Our programs include educational summer programs, holiday events and emergency services. Because we are solely supported by public donations, grants like these make the difference in the lives of our precious children. Our mission is to help homeless keiki succeed, and The Starbucks Foundation has been part of our journey for over a decade.
