Training Track and Field Officials for the Upcoming Season

The Big Island Interscholastic Federation Track and Field season will begin in about 6 weeks.  We need volunteers to help make this happen; we need volunteer officials for the 2020 track and field season.  A free hands-on officials’ training workshop will be held at the Waiakea High School Track on Saturday, February 1, 2020.  We will have three of the Stateʻs outstanding officials from Oahu in attendance who will train anyone willing to learn the basics and help with the track and field season this year.  The season runs approximately from mid March through mid May.

Whether you are a parent who would like to learn more about the rules and officiating, a coach or assistant coach who works with our youth, or an official, this workshop will be helpful for all.  Officiating is a vital part of competition.  Please contact us by phone or email, or just come to the workshop.    It will be held from 9am to 1:30pm, again, at Waiakea High School track on Saturday, FEB 1, 2020.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Whether you are young or old, male or female, experienced or not, we ask that you come to the workshop on Feb 1st from 9:00am to 1:30pm and be a part of making this yearʻs T&F season a success.  Please call Tom Chun, president of the officials’ association at (808)640-6046 or email kilohoku7@gmail.com with any questions about the T&F workshop and how you can help.  Mahalo nui loa.
