4th Of July Redo
In celebration of its 175th anniversary, Parker Ranch is excited to announce that after a two-year hiatus, it will host the 58th Annual July 4th Rodeo and Horse Races on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the Parker Ranch Rodeo Arena in Waimea.*
The July 4th Rodeo celebrates the community and commemorates Waimea’s unique ranching culture and way of life. This rodeo is a long-standing tradition that promotes camaraderie and friendly competition among the various Hawaiʻi Island ranches. It is an opportunity to witness the skills that have made the Hawaiʻi paniolo (Hawaiʻi cowboy) famous throughout the world. The paniolo will compete in various events, including horse races, ranch mugging, team roping, poʻo wai u and more.
The community is invited to enjoy a variety of crafts and food from local vendors, as well as keiki activities, such as a petting zoo. Parker Ranch commemorative logo items will be available at the Paniolo Preservation Society booth. Gates open at 7 a.m. Fast-paced rodeo action begins shortly after the 9 a.m. grand entry and continues non-stop until 1 p.m.
Each year Parker Ranch recognizes an individual or group who has contributed to its island community. This year Parker Ranch will honor both Patti Cook and Carol Ignacio for the commitment and contributions they have made to the communities of North Hawai‘i.
Tickets for the July 4th Rodeo will be available for $10 or $15 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. Pre-sale tickets will be available for purchase, beginning June 1, at the Paniolo Preservation Society, located at the Parker Ranch Pukalani Stables, and online through Eventbrite.
This is a family-friendly event, so please no animals, except service animals, and no alcohol. Seating is limited and will be first come, first served. Rain or shine, the paniolo will ride!
