“Eddie Would Go” & “Queen of Makaha Rell Sunn” Audition Boot Camp

Aloha Theatre has announced the auditions for their Voices From The Ring of Fire series’ productions of Eddie Would Go and Queen of Makaha: Rell Sunn, with deadlines for video submissions on Tuesday, August 18. We want YOU to feel as prepared and confident as possible by offering an Audition “Boot Camp”, bringing interested auditioners the details, material, and support to ensure a successful audition experience!

Train with the Directors and a guest language coach as they get you “in shape” to learn and practice elements of the Pidgin dialect, explore what audition “sides” are, laugh through improvisation exercises, stretch physical characterization skills, and gain professional audition-recording tips! The Directors will also share their artistic visions and casting expectations, authentic components of this production, audition dos/don’ts, and other behind-the-scenes opportunities and materials for interested community members!

Audition Boot Camp will be held via Zoom this Sunday, August 2, from 2:00pm-5:00pm, and is free for all participants. This Boot Camp is recommended for ages 15+. Participants of all abilities, backgrounds, and experiences are welcome. Previous performance experience and ability to speak Pidgin (Hawaiian Creole English) is a plus, but not required to attend the workshop.
