Square Shapes (Kauai) and El Sancho at Amigo’s Cantina
Big Island punk band EL SANCHO are proud to welcome their Kauai-based band SQUARE SHAPES for their first show ever on the Big Island at Amigo’s Cantina in Hilo.
SQUARE SHAPES have been performing across Hawaii and on the mainland since 2016. Their latest album, After the Fact, was released by Canadian label People of Punk Rock Records (Bracket, Ten Foot Pole, Useless ID, etc) and was a finalist for the Na Hoku Hanohano Rock Album of the Year in 2020. The band is often compared to melodic skate punk bands like NOFX, Lagwagon and No Use For a Name.
EL SANCHO is a Big Island-based band that plays fast, fun punk rock. They’ve been featured on the Hilo Palace Theatre’s “Live From the Empty Palace” video series, played on Sirius XM and college radio stations around the country, and the Huffington Post called their recent single “Merry Christmas Joey Ramone” one of the best new holiday songs of 2021. Besides the Ramones, they cite bands like the Descendents and Screeching Weasel as some of their influences.
The two bands invade Amigo’s Cantina on Saturday March 5th for a night of mayhem and fun. This FREE show start at 8pm!
