https://www.waimeaartscouncil.org/Waimea Arts Council presents the 31st Annual Cherry Blossoms Art Show and Plein Air Art Show at the Firehouse Gallery. Artists will display works inspired by the beauty of the springtime cherry blossoms. The show runs from February 1, 2024 through February 25, 2024.
Every year, the Waimea Arts Council chooses a cherry blossom themed artwork from one of the member artists to become the image for the official Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival poster. This year’s selected artist, Patti Pease Johnson will be on site on Feb 3rd to sign posters and sell prints of the artwork. Our Hours on February 3rd are the same as that of the Cherry Blossom Festival: 9:00am-3:00pm.
The Waimea Arts Council is the oldest arts organization in north Hawai’i and occupies the original firehouse building in the Waimea Historic Corner Park, at the intersection of Lindsey Road and Mamalahoa Highway. As the Waimea Arts Council celebrates its 50th year, the Firehouse Gallery will present a new exhibition every month with work created by local artists and artisans exploring cultural themes and depicting natural beauty unique to the area. Visitors can experience a wide selection of original paintings, prints, greeting cards, and handmade jewelry to treasure.
The Firehouse Gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00am – 3:00pm.
Open additional days dependent on availability of docents. Call 808-887-1052 to confirm.
