Hawai‘i Island United Way Awards $226,000 in Grants to Local Non-Profits
Hilo, Hawaii, May 7, 2024 – For over five decades, Hawai‘i Island United Way (HIUW) has been steadfast in its commitment to bolstering foundational resources and fostering community transformation in key areas such as education, financial stability, and health.
The 2024-2026 Community Impact Grant, totaling $226,000, will be distributed among 32 programs operated by 25 partner organizations. These partner agencies, in collaboration with HIUW, are dedicated to effectuating positive change across the Big Island community, perpetuating a legacy of generosity and striving towards a stronger, healthier, and more sustainable community.
Karen Davis, President and Chief Professional Officer of Hawai‘i Island United Way, emphasizes, “Relationship development, authenticity, and community engagement are at the core of HIUW’s mission. The generosity of our donors directly fuels our grant programs, providing vital support to those in greatest need on Hawai‘i Island.”
