This week for our adopt a pet feature, in partnership with Kohala Animal Relocation and Education Service (KARES), we are highlighting Lucky! This sweet 1-year-old pup followed a Good Samaritan home back in June. Lucky was not in great shape—he was starving, scared, had several wounds and scrapes, and was covered in fleas.
Lucky chose a family who nursed him back to health and made sure he received veterinary care, was neutered and microchipped. He is right at the 44-pound mark and, as sad as the foster family is to give Lucky up, it is time for him to find his forever home.
We think Lucky is a mix of pitbull, whippet, and hound. This boy is SMART! Training should be easy-peasy with this guy, as he is food motivated and comes when called. Interested in agility? Lucky just might be the dog for you, because he is super athletic and loves to run and play. Did we mention he is housebroken and great with kids, too?
