Welcome to our weekly adopt-an-animal feature that we recently revived! We’ve partnered with local rescue organization KARES (Kohala Animal Relocation and Education Service) to give Big Island Pulse readers who are looking to adopt a pet a look at some of the wonderful animals that they have available for adoption. This week we are getting to know Sophia, a sweet, older pit bull mix who has a very happy personality. She’s just one of many adoptable pets available, but she is at the top of their list for needing a home.
Sophia is a 10 year old pit bull who was rescued by KARES a few months ago. Once a well-loved family member, she was eventually left alone and tied in a backyard. Miraculously, Sophia doesn’t hold a grudge as she is happy and eager to please. Sophia is housebroken and wants to be by your side at all times. This sweet girl loves her daily walks and loves to play and would do best as the only dog in the home. Please contact KARES if you would like to meet Sophia.
