We have waited 3 long years for the return of the Big Island Veg Fest and this year will be the best one yet! Taking place this Saturday, July 8th at The Mo’oheau Band Stand in downtown Hilo from 11am-6pm.
This free event is brought to life by organizer Alessandra Rupar of Vegan Aloha with the incredible support of Hawai’i Animal Kuleana Alliance(HAKA) and The Sanctuary of Mana Ke’a Gardens.
Fun, delicious and educational for the community, this festival brings everyone together to support its driving foundation of a healthy planet, mind and body.
Big Island Veg Fest offers absolute mouth-watering plant based dishes! With food vendors including but not limited to: Banzo, Anykine Wontons, Under The Bodhi Tree, Big Island Grindz and Nicoco and that is definitely just a small sampling of all delicacies you could ever imagine.

With dozens of vendors preparing for the big day, you will find an abundance of breakfast, lunch, dinner AND desserts available for purchase! “Vegetarian food is so bland and it’s all the same” We DARE you to say that with a straight face after attending this year’s Big Island Veg Fest!
Food is always a big crowd pleaser at these wonderful events but make sure to stop and check out the makers, non-profits, community members, and organizations that have such beautiful items and valuable information to share with you!
We are so incredibly blessed to have so many talented makers right here on the Big island! Jewelry, clothes, soap, candles, perfume, paintings, decals, upcyled goods and so much more will be there for you to enjoy! You can find more makers, artists and locally owned business on the Kamaʻāina Directory.

Did we mention there is a full line-up of blessings, live music, cooking demos, and speakers?
A packed line-up runs 11am-6pm, so make sure to bring your sun shade and chairs so you can stay and enjoy all the festivities brought together by the founders, organizers, and volunteers!
Cheers for bringing this event for our Big Island communities!
