Hawaii Technology Academy: New Student Enrollment Begins February

Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA) has lots to look forward to in the New Year!

The tuition-free public charter school recently acquired a new campus location in the West Hawaii Today building. While construction is still underway, the excitement of the new campus is certainly in the air.

Doing School Differently

Serving grades K-12 on campuses located across Hawaii Island, Maui, Oahu, and Kauai, HTA is known for doing school differently. Their unique blended learning model (face-to-face, virtual, and independent instruction) not only allowed students to continue with their education throughout the pandemic, but also demonstrated just how important technology and innovative teaching methods have become in education.

Traditionally, HTA has operated on a five-day-a-week schedule: students come to campus to learn on face-to-face days, teachers conduct online lessons on virtual class days, and students either study on their own or engage in exciting experiential learning during independent instruction days. While the pandemic was indeed unprecedented, HTA’s inherent blended learning model allowed the school to shift to a full virtual model with much greater ease while many other schools struggled.

Innovative Approach to Education

HTA’s innovative approach to education is truly what sets them apart. Teachers incorporate project-based and career-based learning into their curriculum and teaching, providing our students with invaluable opportunities that undoubtedly set them up for success.

Through internships, community partnerships, and Work-Based Learning programs, keiki apply their education to real-life situations and develop their HTA CORES: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Character. HTA believes that the best kind of learning can often take place outside the bounds of a classroom. Most importantly, they equip students with the tools they need to create their own paths in this world.

New Student Enrollment Starts February 7th

The school is hopeful that construction of the new campus space will be completed by the end of the school year.

Enrollment begins February 7th, 2021! If you are interested in joining HTA’s ‘Ohana, visit: https://hi.myhta.org/enrollment-information.html or call 808-676-5444.

The Kona Campus will be located at: 75-5580 Kuakini Highway, Kailua-Kona.
